Coming Home
Our short documentary follows Onquette Woodyard and her son's fight to bring her wrongfully incarcerated father home.
Coming Home follows Onquette Woodyard and ESPN journalist Eric Woodyard's journey to win clemency for their father, Horace Peterson, tracing how 50+ years of wrongful incarceration impacted five generations of their family.
The film debuted at the 2025 San Quentin Film Festival, the first and only festival dedicated to work by and about incarcerated filmmakers, and received an Honorary Award for Efforts in Social Filmmaking at the 2025 Activists Without Borders Film Festival. It's now part of an impact campaign to revisit Michigan's Aaron ruling, a legal loophole that allows continued incarceration under a felony-murder sentencing line no longer legal today.
